Age Calculator – Calculate Age Precisely

Calculate your exact age in years, months, weeks and days.

Popular Calculations

Calculate age: down to the day

The age calculator uses a date of birth and a reference date to determine the exact age – in full years plus months, weeks and days. So you see not only how old someone is, but also how much time has passed since their last birthday.

What counts is the completed year of life: you are as many years old as birthdays have already passed. The current year of life is only completed on the next birthday. This counting also matters legally, for example for the age of majority or age limits.

A special case is people born on February 29: in non-leap years their nominal birthday falls on February 28 or March 1, depending on interpretation. The calculator works consistently by the calendar, so the completed year of life is determined correctly.

    Frequently asked questions

    How exactly is age calculated?

The calculator counts the completed years between the date of birth and the reference date and shows the remainder in months, weeks and days.

What does "completed year of life" mean?

It is the number of birthdays that have already passed. On the birthday itself you complete that year of life and are then that many years old.

How is a February 29 birthday handled?

In non-leap years February 29 does not exist. The calculator assigns the birthday consistently by the calendar so the completed year of life stays correct.

Can I calculate age for any reference date?

Yes. Alongside the date of birth, enter any reference date to determine the age at that point in time – including in the future.
